We are here for you
Adventure Outfitters has decided with the lift of the stay at home order, we will continue to serve our customers and clients at regular hours. We are still taking precautions and adhering to the CDC guidelines. We will limit the number of customers in the shop and we have protective gear and sanitizer and other cleaning supplies available. We also encourage customers to wash their hands prior to and after leaving the store.
Last month in accordance with the statewide Safer at Home initiative, Adventure decided that it was in the best interest of the public to limit hours and be available by appointment to reduce the number of people who will be in the shop to allow us to adhere to the CDC guidelines more consistently. We will continue to monitor the situation and take it week-by-week.

Adventure Outfitters will keep you updated with the latest information happening in our community and if needed, will operate with limited hours and appointments. We will keep updating you as we learn more about the situation in our community. Please see our website and our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.

Sanitizing Equipment
Adventure Outfitters is practicing extreme caution and sanitizing all of our rental and fitting equipment. We want you to make sure you are also! According to a study performed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), CDC, UCLA and Princeton University, Coronavirus is stable on plastic surfaces for up to three days.
According to an article by Divers Alert Network, to sanitize your equipment, be sure you are rinsing your equipment before use. Bacteria can grow on surfaces that have not been thoroughly rinsed and thoroughly dried afterwards. To sterilize your equipment, you can use an alcohol or antibacterial mouthwash. We use Steramine, medical-grade sanitizing tablets. We do have them available for purchase. If you use Steramine, be sure that you soak the mouthpiece – whether it be for your regulator or your BCD oral inflator – for no more than 5 minutes to avoid wear and tear to your gear. You can also use a toothbrush or swabs to get the inside of your mouthpiece.
For booties, wetsuits, mask, snorkel, fins, you can soak your gear in freshwater for several hours. Be sure to unvelcro, unlatch and unzip before you rinse, as grime can grow in the crevices. Similar to sanitizing your regulator, you can sanitize them the same way.
If you have any other questions about sanitizing your equipment, please reach out to us! We are your local dive shop and we are here to help!
Never stop learning
Adventure Outfitters believes that an occupied mind is a healthy mind. We therefore are taking extra measures to have classes available to you so, you don’t have to leave your living room! We will have virtual classes available, along with e-learning and small semi-private pool sessions and courses.
Scuba diving has to be one of the safest activities with your own bottle of compressed filtered air! Be sure that you are taking care of your mind, as well as your body and getting some exercise and eating healthy. All of these details will keep you in good health and avoid cabin fever! Once things have returned to normal, you will have a greater appreciation of the outside around you and what you missed when you were in your living room or your home office.
