In this exciting course, you will learn to prevent certain diving-related problems and how to manage them should they occur. You will learn about a few of the specific concerns affecting divers, and the best way to provide aid in and out of the water in an emergency. This course is both challenging and demanding, but is ultimately very rewarding. The course covers:

• Self rescue
• Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
• Emergency management and equipment
• Rescuing panicked divers
• Rescuing unresponsive divers

To take this course: PADI (Junior) Adventure Divers who are at least 12 years old and have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive can enroll in a Rescue Diver course.

You are also required to have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You can complete this training prior to the Rescue Diver course. Your instructor may also offer the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty diver course.
