Learn about how to prevent and manage diving-related problems. Learn how to be a leader, assess your scene and take charge in any emergency situation. In the Rescue course, you will learn about a few of the specific concerns affecting divers, and the best way to provide aid in and out of the water in an emergency. This course is both challenging and demanding, but is ultimately very rewarding. The course covers:
- Self rescue
- Recognizing and managing stress in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- Rescuing panicked divers
- Rescuing responsive and unresponsive divers
To take this course, you must be 10-years-old and are required to have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) training within the past 24 months. You can complete this training prior to the Rescue Diver course. Your instructor may also offer the PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider specialty diver course. Study materials are included in the course. You are required to have a pocket mask for this course per new COVID regulations.
