Adventure Outfitters offers a spearfishing course where you can learn:

What you can and can’t shoot

• What you can and can’t shoot
• The Basic Guidelines of Spearfishing
• What types of guns will work for you
• What types of gear you need for different types of spearfishing
• Shooting techniques
• The difference between freediving spearfishing and SCUBA spearfishing

Cost: The cost of the course is $250 for a group rate and $299 for a private course around your schedule. There is also a certification you can achieve with this course called Underwater Hunter. For the certification, it’s an additional $30.

Safety: Although very fun and addictive, spearfishing has safety concerns that should not be taken lightly. Adventure Outfitters make sure that you have the knowledge and skills to be able to bring dinner back home alive. In this course, we provide safety measures that should be taken when spearfishing, no matter what the conditions. We’ll answer questions like, “what do I do if I’m spearfishing and I see a shark? Should I carry a stringer on me or in front of me? How do I make sure that I am conscious of my air intake while spearfishing? What do I do if my line breaks? What if a band breaks?”
