Fish ID Classroom
November 27, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm$250.00
Have you ever wondered to yourself, “I see these fish all the time but I can never identify them!” or “this is such a beautiful little guy, wonder what kind of fish he is?!”
That is exactly what the Fish ID Course is all about. We’re headed to Blue Heron Bridge on Dec. 1 with thousands of fish and marine life. In order to identify them, we will need to look at their shape, their environment, their color and more. We will look at the most common families and species of fish found in temperate and tropical waters throughout the world.
In this course we will go over:
- The Project AWARE philosophy about protecting worldwide aquatic ecosystems.
- Fish family groupings and common characteristics of fish species found in the local area.
- Fish surveying techniques and strategies for collecting valid data.
- The planning, organization, and procedures for identifying fish families and species while diving.
Pair this course with the Blue Heron Bridge trip and receive $100 of the course!
