Diving in Indonesia | Jon Persky
March 4, 2020 @ 12:00 am

We have all seen the beautiful photos captured from Indonesia. We’ve heard stories from those who have traveled there and the beautiful animals, plants, coral, wrecks and more that those have encountered but to us, it all seems like a dream. What about the expensive flight? What route do I take? Where would I stay? How do I make the most of out my trip to Indonesia? Learn more about exploring this exotic location from avid diver and photographer Jon Persky who will go over:
- How to get there and what to expect
- Different areas of Asia, which are better for diving, photography, travel…etc.
- Reef diving vs. Muck diving
- Fish ID
- Basics of underwater photography
Mr. Persky has been diving since 1993 and went from open water certification to Divemaster in 6 months. He has done over 2,000 dives and focuses on southeast Asia for his underwater photography. In just the past five years, Jon has dove the: Solomon Islands (3x), Raja Ampat (5x), Ambon Bay (3x), Siladen (2x), Lembeh Straights (3x), Triton Bay, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Cocos Island and Socorro.
From reefscapes, to the weird and unusual, we challenge you to correctly identify the fish and creatures in Jon’s photos!
